There really isn't any doubt in my mind that there are messages
from God coded throughout the Bible. The Bible Codes discovered
so far only add to the evidence that the Bible is of supernatural
origin. Personally, I look upon the subject of Bible Codes as an
extracurricular topic, like an elective rather than a core requirement
for one's degree. The majority of one's time is best spent reading
the Word itself, rather than obsessively searching for coded examples
of what is already spelled out for us.
However, I do feel the topic is worthy to be mentioned, especially
in light of the context of Isaiah 53 which is a prophecy fortelling
the crucifixion of Jesus Christ , the messiah, about 200 years before
he was born.
Yacov Rambsel was the first to discover that counting every 20th
letter in Isaiah 53:10 in Hebrew spells "Yeshua shmi"
which means "Yeshua is my name!". In
case you didn't already know, in Hebrew, the name Jesus is Yeshua
or Joshua. Not only is the phrase "Jesus is my name" encoded
in this amazing scripture, but it is encoded both backwards and
forwards at a 20 letter interval, from the same starting point.
Coincidence? Hardly.
To date, the longest Bible Code or ELS (equidistant letter sequences)
ever discovered happens to be in Isaiah 53. This ELS is 22 letters
which translates as “Gushing from above Yeshua was my mighty
name, and the clouds rejoiced,” or “Gushing from above
was Yeshua my mighty name, and the clouds rejoiced.” The choice
is a matter of taste or preference. The actual location of the code
begins in Isaiah 53:5, Word 2, Letter 1.
Apparently any book can contain codes or ELS. However, what is
remarkably different about the Bible is the number of germane words
clustered in just the right places. The frequency of ELS in the
Bible is apparently incredibly higher than any other book too.
It is important that it be implicitly clear that the Bible Codes
are NOT meant to fortell the future! Study the past, study prophecy,
but never try to fortell the future by seeking out "hidden
knowledge".
